Commercial Art I
Commercial Art I class (IC1230) prepares Mountain View High School students for high-skill, high-wage jobs in the industry sector pathway of Design, Visual, and Media Arts. Curriculum is based on the California Career Technical Education (CTE) - Arts, Media, and Entertainment (AME) sector standards Links to an external site. and is aligned with the 2019 California Arts Standards Links to an external site. (Media Arts Discipline). This course introduces the commercial application of design principles to communicate on a two-dimensional plane. Students create, manipulate, and analyze artistic elements and media used to express feelings and communicate ideas. Students will study the historical and cultural development of two-dimensional arts and its impact as a communications tool. Students will become familiar with current practices and applications including computer design and career - focused traditional arts disciplines.
