Our current distance learning situation has necessitated the adoption of a learning management system: Canvas. This LMS is used not only by high schools but also by colleges and universities to streamline the use of educational technology tools in one place while providing the opportunity for a robust and rigorous academic experience.

This short course was designed to provide parents and guardians with both an introduction to the purpose of a learning management system (LMS) and the details related to their ability to 'co-enroll' in a course as an Observer in order to track their students' progress.

Because MVLA teachers and staff value and encourage the participation of all stakeholders in ensuring high levels of student learning, including the vital involvement of parents and guardians, this course has been made available to any parent or guardian who wants to know more about Canvas.

Because the course is unmoderated (there is no instructor), you should direct any questions or concerns to the MVLA's Information Technology Services Department at mvla.info.serv@mvla.net.
