Documentary Outline

After you've annotated your first interview transcript Links to an external site. and gathered some relevant secondary sources, you will be ready to assemble this information into an outline. Your Documentary Paper will begin to take shape in this document before you invest serious time and energy in the actual composition of the paper. As you outline, pay attention to where you have holes in your story or research; then, plan to use additional interviews and secondary research to fill those holes. Choose the appropriate outlining path according to the type of Documentary you are doing: 

• a Standard (Non-Profile) Documentary Outline Links to an external site.; or,
• a Profile Documentary Outline (if your subject is a person) Links to an external site.

I expect your Outline to be incomplete on Thursday, but it should show some content from your first interview transcript and secondary research. Please make sure you have written a rough Angle Statement in the box at the top of the page.
