Publication Design is dual-enrolled with with Foothill College PHOT 5 Links to an external site. (Introduction to Photography) which gives successful students 4 quarter units of transferable college credit and a one point high school GPA bump.

Follow Steps to Enroll

If you took classes last term and would like to continue in the coming term, you DO NOT need to fill out a new application.

Once you receive your student 8-digit CWID, begin the Dual Enrollment process, by filling the appropriate Dual Enrollment Form on these links.

You can also find these forms by logging into  your My Portal Account Links to an external site..  Clicking on Apps in the left menu and select the Adobe Sign Student Forms App.  

Under the Student Webforms select the appropriate Dual Enrollment Form

You must complete the special admit form each quarter that you enroll in classes at Foothill, even if you took classes last term.

Attach a copy of your current unofficial high school transcript to the dual enrollment form. This is used to verify attendance in high school. This does not clear students for prerequisites. Please see policies below.

Submit all documents through the Adobe Sign Form.

We'll get back to you in 3 to 5 business days. 

You can check your enrollment status and course registrations through Foothills myportal. Also available are student services including: library access, disability support, bookstore, VTA, etc.

Register for your courses through MyPortal Links to an external site. using the Course Record Number (CRN).

Foothill College waives enrollment and all other fees for dual enrollment as long as you do not take more than 11 units during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters (6 units in the Summer).  

The cost of textbooks Links to an external site., other course fees Links to an external site. such as materials fees, are not waived. 

High school students who are considered international students for tuition purposes will pay international student fees. Students residing outside of California will also pay non-resident tuition. 

Any dual enrollment student taking 11 units (six in the summer) or more at either Foothill College, De Anza College, or combined is considered a regular full-time student and will be charged all fees Links to an external site..

Student Information and FERPA

Once a student enrolls at Foothill College, all rights to access student education records belong to the student. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prevents Foothill College staff and faculty from releasing any student information to friends, family, or others, regardless of the age of the student.

Transcripts

Grades earned in college courses become part of the student's permanent college transcript.

Withdrawals

It is the responsibility of the high school student to officially drop a course Links to an external site.. If a high school student does not withdraw by the cutoff date, they may receive a penalty grade.

UC and CSU Transferrable Classes

Units are transferable to the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems.

Please note that there is a separate Canvas for Foothill in which your grades will be entered, but all assignments and content should be accessed through MVHS's Canvas only.

 

Notes for 1st Time Users of Foothill's myportal  myportal.fhda.edu Links to an external site.:

  • Under Campuswide ID, enter your 8-digit Campuswide (Student) ID
    Under Password, enter your date of birth in the 8-digit format: MMDDYYYY
    (Example: March 5, 2005 would be — 03052005)
    You will be prompted to create your new password. Remember it! Write it down!
  • Once logged in, on the left, go to “Apps”
  • Scroll down to “Students” and click on Adobe Sign Student Forms
  • Under “Student Workflows” select “Apply For A Student Email”
  • Request Your Student Email Account - Submit Request
  • Select Foothill College and then “Confirm”
    • Note: The system may log you out after you submit request. If you get back to the login screen, just log back in to myportal and it will take you to the email application screen.
  • Select Format for your email (Legal Name or Preferred Name if listed on your application).

Go back into myportal and into the Adobe Sign Student Forms.

  • Under Student Work Flows, select “Foothill Outreach CCAP and MOU Partnership Form (Student)”
  • A new window will open and you will need to enter the following:
  • Enter your parent’s email address (the form will be emailed to them to sign).
  • Enter Ms. Woodward email address <amber.woodward@mvla.net>
  • Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Send.”
  • Check your Foothill email for the form. Open the email, sign, and submit.
    • MyPortal → Apps → Adobe Sign Student Forms → scroll to the bottom & select Login to Email

Please note that IEP and 504 accommodations do not apply to your college courses. You will need to apply for separate accommodations through Foothill Disability Support Services  - Find Out Who To Contact


Have your parent/guardian check their email for the form. Have them open the email, sign, and submit.

Email your outreach person (you should have received an email and/or phone call from them) and/or the District CTE/Dual Enrollment Coordinator when complete.
