Your second interview transcript is a precise written record of what you asked your interviewee and what your interviewee said in response. This document will serve as an additional primary source for your Documentary Paper. Here is a Sample.
Note: if you aren't able to arrange the second interview in-person, you may do an email interview (send questions and receive written responses).
Please make sure to:
- Name your file: LastName_FirstName-Interview Transcript #2
- Share the document with english@freestyleacademy.rocks (and upload the URL to this Canvas window).
- List the following identifying information at top of the first page:
- first and last name of interviewee
- occupation/role/title
- date+location of interview (if you did an email interview, indicate that here)
- Provide an accurate transcription of everything you asked (including timestamps for each question—unless this was an email interview) and everything your interviewee said in response. Aim for at least 10 minutes of interview time.
- Other considerations: It is okay to eliminate “ums” and other filler words. If there are parts of the interview you know you won't use, make a note in the transcript about what you omitted and how much recording time that omission covers.

It is your journalistic responsibility to create an accurate personal interview transcript because it will be a primary source document you'll have to quote from and cite.
