Capstone Project Rubric
Based on the California Arts Standards
- Your grade will be based on points demonstration of each of the 11 anchor standards below.
You are not required (or expected) to demonstrate all skills of all 11 standards,
rather: by meeting many of them you will earn high marks on your Capstone Project.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ARTWORK, ORIGINAL FILES (PSD, AI, SESX, ETC.) and/ or a link to a website, Google Drive Folder, etc. OR photos of your work of art.
- This is the first grade of your final submission, one point will be earned for each standard demonstrated.
- Your second grade of your final submission will be a self-assessment on the next page.
- Your third grade of your final project will occur during presentation next week (Tuesday and Thursday)
Your Capstone Project will demonstrate your arts literacy.
What Is Literacy in Media Arts?
The standards do not address the use of specific media, rather they provide benchmarks that reflect your understanding of artistic processes. Technology is embedded, integrated, or used as a tool, but the emphasis is on process.
Literacy in arts is broad, diverse, and addresses creative, conceptual, and technical competencies that exist globally. Art can be the basis for communications, design, and social interaction therefore, students should be able to demonstrate and understanding in production and design that has real-world relevance and applications that can include the following:
