Photography Learning Mastery Assignment

(keep in mind that this is your first and only (so far) learning mastery assignment and will be 50% of your total grade in this class.

You have one week to create 3 portraits of friends or family - 3 of one person in different settings, or 3 images of 3 different people (or combination of) in the same setting.

Portraits of students must not be in your class or any of my classes.

You are welcome to use the "studio" in class during class time, your free periods, tutorial, before or after school.

You have one week to get this done, so start arranging portrait subjects now. Take a camera and a fresh battery home for the weekend and get it done.

Model Releases must be provided and only :

-> carefully planned (background, setting, pose, lighting, etc.) and

-> well edited (exposure, color, crop, contrast, etc) portraits will be accepted.

Export or save a high resolution, high quality jpgs and submit to this assignment.

4 3 2 1
Strong choice of subject, evident concept and development of an artistic idea Effective choice of subject and concept. Some evidence of careful planning and concept. Subject is convenient or arbitrary and there is little evidence of a concept or idea for the portrait. Subject is random and the image does not convey any emotion or personality.
All 3 portraits are carefully captured, edited,  and produced. The editing supports the emotion and personality of the subject and the pose. Some of the portraits are carefully edited and enhance the person portrayed, story told, or emotion of the image.  One of the images is well done and edited meaningfully. The others are inadequate to meet the standards of this assignment. 3 images were submitted, but not well thought out or edited.
