In preparation for class discussion, read Chapter 5 of They Say / I Say (pgs. 72-81) on "Distinguishing What You Say from What They Say" and complete Exercise #2 (on pgs. 80-81).  On your document, write out the sentences where Slaughter refers to the views of others and highlight the signal phrases she uses to distinguish her views from theirs.
